Each year over 115,000 patients receive cancer treatment at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.  The average length of treatment for these patients is 60 days. The daily cost of accommodations near MD Anderson is $225.00.  Over a 60 day period,  one patient will rack up over $13,000.00 in expenses for accommodations alone not to include the cost of treatment. Her Journey's sole mission is to provide free housing for these  patients.  Currently,  Her Journey provides two condos(Donna's House and Jimmy's Place) less than 5 minutes from MD Anderson at no cost to the patient nor the care taker.  Donna's House and Jimmy's Place are fully renovated, remodeled and furnished 2 bedroom condos located on the first floor of a gated community.  Donna's House opened her doors to her first patient in June of 2015 and Jimmy's Place followed by receiving his first patient in March of 2016. Since they opened their doors for the first time, these two condos have been fully occupied with a waiting list for each.
